Bushcraft Essentials
The ‘Bushcraft Essentials’ course is ideal for you if you have been on the ‘Introduction to Bushcraft’ weekend or if you are an adult with some experience of outdoor living and you would like to formalise or further develop your bushcraft knowledge & skills. The camp will start on Friday night and throughout the weekend you will explore:
- Methods of creating an ember and blowing it to flame using friction and other methods
- Seasonal Wild Food – Discover more plants and wild foods
- Natural & manmade tinder
- Fire lays & more outdoor cooking techniques including camp ovens
- Modern fabric and natural shelters
- Natural cordage
- Outdoor Water – Find & collect outdoor water and explore alternative ways of making it safe to drink
- Woodland animal & bird sign
- Wood lore – Expand your knowledge of native UK trees and their common uses
- Woodcraft & tools – The safe use of and maintenance of knives, saw & axe and their selection
By Sunday afternoon you would have taken huge steps in becoming self sufficient in living outdoors in lowland woodland in the UK.
Jay aims to promote a friendly & relaxed course that is both informative and fun allowing you plenty of time to ‘experiment’ at your own pace. This course is slightly more formal when compared to the introductory course and can cater for around 8 adults (you are welcome to bring a partners or friends). This 2 day and 2 night course with all food & drinks included costs £150 per person. Gift vouchers are available on request which can be redeemed for up to 1 year from purchase.
