This pin pack includes one Jousting Bunny pin and one Jousting Dog pin, opponents through the ages.

From Breviary for the Use of Verdun, Winter Volume, made for Renaud de Bar between 1302 and 1303 in France. These pins depict a drollery, a popular style of marginalia.  Role-reversals (such as animals acting as humans) were a typical medieval trope used for humour, often seen in manuscript illuminations and marginalia.

Both are hard enamel pins with two black rubber clutches for added security and to avoid spinning. Made in the UK. Please note that the enamel colour of the rabbit in the Jousting Dog may vary slightly from the photo, later versions issued now stand out more from the black nickel finish.

5% of all Marginalia Paraphernalia sales go to support Arts Emergency (registered charity no. 1152377).
